Watermanship and Skill Assessment

3. Problem Solving Exercise.

Practical Application of Divemaster
There can be two options available to complete the Divemaster course.

Option 1 Internership
In this option the Divemaster candidate will supervise and assist divers during training situations. All this is done under Instructor supervision. The candidate must assist in five confined water sessions and five open water sessions in various courses. We recommend this as you get hands on experience with real students.

Option 2 Practical Training Exercises
This option is used if option 1 is unfeasible due to logistics and actual supervisory situations. Here the candidates and other staff take turns in role playing as students, Divemasters and Instructor. This is great fun as well as educational. Practical training exercises afford comparable training and experience because you can simulate the situations candidates would encounter.

In both options Divemaster candidates must prepare a Dive site Map and an Emergency assistance plan.

You must be at least 18 years old. You must hold the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Advanced Plus or equivalent and PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent. You must have logged at least 20 dives. Prior to certification 60 dives must be logged.
