This course is for those that have at least Powerboat level 2 or higher or Equivalent. You must have knowledge of navigation and chart work up to the level of the Day skipper shore based certificate. Ocean Academy then takes you out at sea during the night which you will discover safely, is far easier with the knowledge than you would expect and also incredibly good fun!  

 

You need to be a minimum the age of 17 years to participate.  

 

This course can be put towards the MCA Certification of Competence if you complete the sea survival, VHF/DSC radio certificate, First Aid and Complete a HSE Medical. This then can allow you to be commercially endorsed.  

 

By the end of this course you will be able to plan, organize and complete day and night passages in coastal water.  

 

Course minimum duration: Two Days.
